Nominations/Applications are invited for the post of Professor of the Chair of Rajiv Gandhi Centre in Contemporary Studies in the University of Mumbai on tenure basis for a period of five years on regular Pay Band Rs. 37400-67000+AGP Rs.12000/-.
Qualification & Experience as under :-
A (i) An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification (s) in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline and published work of high quality, actively engaged in research with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and /or research/policy papers.
(ii) A minimum of ten years of teaching experience at the University/College, and/or experience in research at the University/National level institutions/industries including experience of guiding candidates for research at Doctoral level.
(iii) Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula
and courses, and technology-mediated teaching learning process.
(iv) An academician of outstanding track record who has made scholarship in the designated areas of studies.
OR
B. An outstanding Professional, with established reputation in the
relevant field, who has made significant contributions to the knowledge in the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, to be substantiated by credentials.
Further, added that the proposed chair shall initiate and encourage
thought processes and would institutionalize interdisciplinary and
trans-disciplinary studies and research in the following major areas :-
1. Panchayat Raj Systems and Local Governance
2. Women’s Empowerment
3. Impact of Technology on Society
4. Eco-systems and Sustainable Development
5. Livelihood and Food Security
6. Nuclear Disarmament and Peace Studies
7. Tribal Development
8. Protection of Child Rights
9. Social Justice
10. Secularism and Nation Building
